Affiliate terms
These terms apply when you refer stores to LatchPay, as a LatchPay merchant or as an approved affiliate. Version 2026-09-28-draft.
This is a draft. It describes how the program actually works, but it has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer. It will be before the first payout.
1. The program
LatchPay runs its own referral program. You get a personal link. When someone creates a new LatchPay account after clicking it, that account counts as your referral, and you earn commission on what LatchPay receives from it as described below. Joining is free. You are not LatchPay's employee or agent and may not act on its behalf.
2. Who can join
LatchPay merchants join from the dashboard. Others apply on the affiliates page with their Whop account; LatchPay reviews each application by hand and may decline it without giving a reason. One affiliate account per LatchPay account.
3. When a referral counts
A referral counts when a brand-new LatchPay account is created within 60 days of a click on your link, and your link was the last referral link clicked in that browser. Existing LatchPay accounts, your own account and accounts of the same person or business do not count. The link works through a first-party cookie; a browser that blocks or clears it cannot be credited.
4. What you earn
The standard rate is €20 once per referred store, earned when that store's first paid LatchPay month is paid, plus 20% of what LatchPay receives from that store for its plan and usage fees, before tax and minus refunds and chargebacks, for 12 months from the day the store's LatchPay account is created. LatchPay may agree a different rate with you. The rate that applies to a referral is the one in force when the referral was made; later changes apply to new referrals only.
The €20 is earned at most once per referred store. If the first paid month is refunded in full or charged back, the €20 is taken back and is not earned again by a later payment. The referred store pays the normal price and gets nothing extra.
5. Hold, refunds and chargebacks
Commission is held for 30 days after the payment it comes from, then becomes ready for payout. When a payment is refunded, in part or in full, or charged back, the share on it is taken back in the same proportion; the €20 is taken back only when the first paid month is refunded in full or charged back. If a chargeback is decided in the store's favour, the commission is restored. If commission that is taken back was already paid out, the amount is deducted from your next payouts; your balance can be negative until then.
6. Payouts
Once a month LatchPay prepares a payout list and approves it before anything is sent. You are paid per currency, in the currency LatchPay received, when the amount ready in that currency reaches the minimum (€50, $50, £50, CHF 50, CA$75, A$75, SEK 550, NOK 550, DKK 375, PLN 215, ¥8,000). Smaller amounts roll over. A currency without a minimum is held until LatchPay sets one.
Payouts are Whop transfers to the Whop account you signed in with; LatchPay does not pay to other accounts. LatchPay pays any Whop transfer fee, so you receive the full amount; Whop's withdrawal fees on your own balance are yours. To withdraw from Whop you need to pass Whop's identity check, and Whop's own terms apply to your Whop balance. A payout that Whop refuses or that fails is retried; it is not lost.
7. Rules
- Say that you are paid when you recommend LatchPay.
- No paid search ads on the LatchPay name or misspellings of it.
- No spam, no fake signups, and no paying or rewarding people to sign up.
- No promises about what a store will earn.
- No referring yourself, your own businesses, or accounts created only to earn commission.
- No misleading claims about LatchPay, and no promises about income or results.
You must make clear that you are paid when you recommend LatchPay, as the Dutch Advertising Code (Reclamecode) and the ACM expect, and as the rules of the platforms you use require.
8. Suspension and ending
LatchPay may pause or end your affiliate account if these terms are broken, and may then withhold commission that was not yet paid out and that relates to the breach. While paused, your link does not credit new referrals, payments by stores you already referred earn no commission, the commission periods keep running, and no payouts are sent. Commission missed while paused is not added later.
You can stop at any time by asking us through the contact form. Commission earned up to the day you stop is paid out under these terms; nothing is earned after that.
9. Taxes
Commission is income for you. You are responsible for declaring it and for any VAT. If you act as a business, invoicing or self-billing is settled with LatchPay before your first payout. LatchPay may have to report payments to the Dutch tax authority and keeps records of payouts for seven years.
10. Changes and law
LatchPay may change the program or these terms with notice; changes apply to referrals made after the change. Dutch law applies. Questions go through the contact form.
