LatchPay and Whop
Whop is used twice, and the two never mix. Your own Whop business takes the store payments. A LatchPay membership on Whop pays for the service and is the switch that keeps the checkout running.
Your Whop business
Store payments
- Every store payment is created on your business. Whop is the merchant of record, so statements read WHOP*.
- Payouts, refunds and disputes stay in your Whop dashboard, on Whop’s schedule and terms.
- LatchPay creates the payment, listens for the result through a webhook, and reads the payments it created.
- LatchPay never takes a cut inside these charges and never holds your money.
Your LatchPay membership
From €100 / 30 days + usage fee
- The membership (Starter at €100 or Scale at €299 per 30 days) is bought on Whop. It is the on/off switch: when it lapses, checkouts stop.
- The usage fee (0.5% on Starter, 0.25% on Scale) is a separate Whop payment on that membership, charged to the card you saved at signup.
- It is never an emailed invoice, so there is no extra Whop invoice fee on top.
- Sign-in to the LatchPay dashboard is Whop OAuth. There is no LatchPay password.
What the LatchPay app does on your business
When you connect, you install the LatchPay app on the business you pick and approve its permissions: creating payments and refunds, managing and receiving webhooks for payments, refunds and disputes, creating inline plans for ad hoc order totals, and the basic reads those webhooks need. The full list is on the Whop guide. Disconnecting removes the webhook and stops store payments.
Honest limits
- Whop's own processing fees apply to each store payment. LatchPay does not change or absorb them.
- Buyers pay by card in Whop's payment element. They do not need a Whop account.
- Refunds are made on Whop, by you. LatchPay credits the fee already billed for a refunded order on the next run.
- Disputes are filed and answered on Whop. LatchPay shows them read-only and links to the case.
- If the fee charge fails or the membership lapses, checkouts pause until it is sorted out. The theme line stays in place.
