Store-wide numbers on Home
What the Store-wide block on Home counts, why it only covers the last 60 days, and why its LatchPay share can differ from your LatchPay order count.
Updated
What the block shows
The Store-wide block on Home shows every Shopify order of the current store in the period you picked, from all sales channels, not only the orders paid through LatchPay. It has four numbers (Orders, Sales, Refunded and Customers) and one line: how many of those orders came through LatchPay, and what share that is. It covers one store at a time. Switch stores in the store menu to see another one.
LatchPay reads these numbers from Shopify when Home opens and reuses them for 5 minutes, sometimes a little longer while it reads them again. The rest of Home does not wait for them. The block shows grey tiles until Shopify answers. The footer says when the numbers were read.
What is counted
- Orders: every Shopify order processed in the period, from any sales channel. Orders Shopify marks as test orders are left out. A LatchPay test payment is a normal order in Shopify, so it counts here.
- Sales: the order totals after discounts, with tax and shipping, before refunds. Cancelled orders are included.
- Refunded: refunds on the orders from this period. A refund made today on an order from last month counts in last month.
- Customers: distinct customers who ordered in the period. Guest orders without a customer are not counted.
- Days run in UTC, like the rest of Home. Money is in your store's currency, even when a buyer paid in another currency.
The 60-day limit
LatchPay reads orders with the permission your store already gave it. Shopify only lets that permission see orders from the last 60 days. For a longer period, such as 90 days or 12 months, the block does not ask Shopify and says to pick a shorter period. Your LatchPay numbers on the rest of Home are not limited.
More than 700 orders
To add up Sales, Refunded and Customers, LatchPay reads the orders from Shopify, at most 700 per period. It also stops earlier when reading more would use up the store's Shopify request allowance, which checkout needs to create orders. The Orders tile and the LatchPay share still show, but Sales, Refunded and Customers show "—" with the note "Sales, refunds and customers are hidden for this period; it has too many orders to add up here." Pick a shorter period, or see Shopify's own Analytics for the full totals.
Notes you may see
- Reconnect Shopify to see store-wide numbers: the store is not connected and working. Fix it on the Shopify page.
- Shopify did not answer in time: Shopify did not answer within a few seconds or could not be reached. Reload Home in a moment.
- Shopify rate-limited the request: the store's Shopify request allowance is used up for the moment, often by other apps. Reload Home in a minute.
- Shopify rejected the saved credentials: the app's access to the store was revoked or its secret changed. Press Re-check on the Shopify page to see what to fix.
- The app is missing an Admin API scope these numbers need: the app in your Shopify admin cannot read orders. Press Re-check on the Shopify page; it shows any missing scope and how to add it.
- Currency changed; totals hidden: Shopify returned amounts in a different currency from the one LatchPay has saved for the store. Orders, Customers and the share still show; Sales and Refunded show "—". Press Re-check on the Shopify page so LatchPay reads the new currency.
- Store-wide numbers could not be loaded from Shopify: something else went wrong. Reload Home; if the note stays, press Re-check on the Shopify page.
These are Shopify's numbers, not LatchPay's. Fees are never worked out from them. The weekly usage fee uses only the orders paid through LatchPay.
