Going live: the first test order
Switch the checkout on, place one small real order in a private window, and find it in Shopify and on Whop.

Why a real order
The only way to prove the whole chain is a real card payment: the checkout opens, Shopify quotes the cart, Whop charges the card, the payment webhook arrives, and the paid order appears in Shopify. A small order with your own card does all of that and can be refunded on Whop afterwards.
Switch the checkout on
While the LatchPay checkout is on (the Go live step, or Checkout interception in Settings), every buyer who clicks Checkout uses it, including you while you test. The switch can only be turned on once the membership is active and both the Whop business and the Shopify store are connected; the theme line must be live on the store as well, or buyers keep getting Shopify's checkout even with the switch on.
The test checklist
Open your store in a private window
Add something to the cart. A private window avoids a cached page from before the theme line was added.
Click Checkout
The LatchPay checkout opens instead of Shopify's. Shop Pay and the other express buttons are hidden.
Enter an address and compare
The shipping rates and tax must match your Shopify settings for that address. They are quoted live from Shopify.
Enter a discount code
The total moves. One code per order is supported.
Place one small real order with your own card
The card is charged by Whop on your business. If the bank asks for 3-D Secure, Whop handles it and returns to LatchPay.
Find the order and the payment
The order is in Shopify, marked as paid and tagged
latchpay; the payment is on your Whop business.
What to check afterwards
- Orders shows the order with the Whop payment id and a link to Shopify. The status should read Paid.
- Shopify sent its usual confirmation email and reduced inventory.
- Fees shows the order's share of the usage fee accruing for the current period.
Refunding the test order
Refund it on Whop. LatchPay mirrors the refund into Shopify and credits the usage fee for that order on the next weekly run.
Switching off again
Switch off again at any time in Settings. Shopify's checkout is back on the next page load, and the theme line can stay in place; it does nothing while LatchPay is off.
