Orders and writeback
Partially paid orders and review tags
When Whop collected less than the quote, stock could not be claimed, or the fraud rules held an order: what the tags mean and what to do.
Updated
Partially paid
When Whop reports a payment for less than Shopify quoted (a currency edge case, or a total that changed at the last moment), LatchPay still creates the order, but as partially paid with the amount actually collected, tags it latchpay-review and latchpay-short-payment, and flags it Needs review in the dashboard. Do not fulfil it until you have looked.
Inventory could not be claimed
The stock for a cart is held for 30 minutes while the buyer pays. If Shopify still refuses the claim when the order is created (stock sold elsewhere in the meantime, an inventory policy change), LatchPay creates the order anyway, bypassing the inventory check, and tags it latchpay-review and latchpay-inventory-review: the buyer has paid, so the order must exist; you decide whether to ship, backorder or refund.
Held by the fraud rules
An order the fraud rules held after the charge is tagged latchpay-review as well and waits on Fraud & risk for Approve or Reject. Its reason on the Orders page starts with "Held by the fraud rules". See The review queue.
What to do
Refunds happen on Whop
LatchPay never moves money from a review decision. If a short payment or a bypassed stock claim ends in a refund, make it on Whop; LatchPay mirrors it into Shopify.
The Needs review tab on Orders lists every flagged order; Home's "Needs attention" card counts them. Removing the tag in Shopify is fine once you have dealt with it.
