Post-purchase upsell apps for Shopify compared (2026)
Upsell.com (ReConvert), Zipify OCU and Aftersell compared with a custom checkout that has post-purchase offers built in: pricing models, placements and limits.
Published · 6 min read

The main Shopify post-purchase upsell apps are Upsell.com (formerly ReConvert), Zipify OneClickUpsell (OCU) and Aftersell by Rokt. All three show a one-click offer after payment inside Shopify's own checkout flow and are billed on your order volume or on the upsell revenue they generate. The alternative is a replacement checkout with post-purchase offers built in, such as LatchPay, which costs nothing extra per offer but means leaving Shopify's checkout.
Pricing and features below are taken from each app's own site or help center, as of September 2026. They change often, so check the linked pages before you decide.
How post-purchase apps work on Shopify
Most post-purchase apps use Shopify's post-purchase extension. It shows a page after the order is confirmed, but before the Thank you page. Because the buyer's card was stored during checkout, the app can add an accepted offer to the order with one click.
That extension has limits every app inherits. According to Shopify's documentation, as of September 2026:
- It is in beta; a live store needs to request access (in practice the app handles this).
- The page is not shown when the buyer pays with a wallet such as Apple Pay or Google Pay, with an installment service such as Klarna or Afterpay, or with a gift card.
- Orders need to be at least $0.50 and come through the Online Store sales channel.
- A buyer can accept at most three post-purchase offers per checkout.
- Only one app can own the post-purchase page at a time.
- It is available on all plans except Shopify Starter.
Apps also add offers on the thank-you and order status pages, which work on all plans except Starter, and in the checkout itself, which needs Shopify Plus.
Upsell.com (formerly ReConvert)
ReConvert now operates as Upsell.com; its Shopify App Store listing still carries the ReConvert name.
What it does. According to its own help center and product page, it places widgets across the purchase flow: product page, cart page, cart drawer, checkout (Plus only), post-purchase pages and the thank-you and order status pages. It offers one-click post-purchase offers, conditional logic based on order contents and totals, and A/B testing.
Pricing model. Its pricing help article says that after a 14-day free trial you are charged on whichever is higher over the last 30 days: your store's total orders, or the revenue generated by the app. Charges are in USD, every 30 days, with no usage caps. The tier amounts are on its pricing calculator.
Good fit if you want thank-you page customization and post-purchase offers in one app and are comfortable with a bill that follows your order count.
Zipify OneClickUpsell (OCU)
What it does. Zipify describes OCU on its product page as an upsell app covering one-click post-purchase, product page, pre-purchase, slide cart, checkout (Shopify Plus) and thank-you page offers. It is also on the Shopify App Store.
Pricing model. Zipify says OCU is one plan with every placement included, billed on the upsell revenue OCU generates for your store each month, not on your order count or total sales. Its page states the price never goes past $999 a month, and its billing help article describes a 30-day free trial. Check the product page for the entry tiers.
Good fit if you want to pay in proportion to what the upsells actually earn rather than to your total orders.
Aftersell by Rokt
What it does. Aftersell's Shopify App Store listing and site cover one-click post-purchase upsells, checkout upsells and thank-you page offers. Its post-purchase plan includes A/B testing, downsell flows, targeting, translations and single or multi-product offers, according to its pricing page.
Pricing model. Aftersell bills its post-purchase plan on your store's total orders in the last 30 days. Its pricing page lists $34.99 a month for up to 500 monthly orders, and its billing documentation says the post-purchase charge never exceeds $799.99 a month, even above 100,000 orders. A 30-day free trial is offered. Aftersell also lists "Rokt Thanks", a free thank-you page placement that it says earns the merchant money per order.
Good fit if you want A/B testing and downsells and your order count is predictable. Like every app, checkout placements need Shopify Plus.

The alternative: a checkout with offers built in
If you are replacing Shopify's checkout anyway (for example to move payments or to change the checkout steps on a non-Plus plan), you do not need a separate upsell app, and apps like the ones above will not run on the replacement anyway.
LatchPay is one such checkout. It replaces only the checkout page and the card charge; products, orders and customers stay in Shopify (see what LatchPay does and the Shopify integration), and payments land on your own Whop business (see the Whop integration). Its offers, on both plans:
- Order bump in the checkout: one checkbox offer, never pre-ticked, chosen by cart rules, in the same order and payment. See order bump.
- Post-purchase offer on LatchPay's thank-you page: one product with "Add to my order" and "No thanks" for 1 to 30 minutes. One-click only when the buyer ticked "Save my payment details for a one-time offer after paying" during checkout, for cards and card wallets such as Apple Pay and Google Pay; otherwise the buyer pays in a payment box. An accepted offer becomes a second Shopify order that ships with the first, with no extra shipping. See blocks.
- Numbers per offer (shown, accepted, extra revenue) on Insights.
Honest differences from the apps:
- No separate app fee, but a usage fee on everything. The offers are included; LatchPay's fee is a percentage of all paid orders (0.5% on Starter, 0.25% on Scale) plus the membership. See the fees page.
- Fewer optimization features. One post-purchase offer per paid checkout, no A/B tests, no downsell chain.
- Whop and Shopify fees apply. Payments run through your Whop business, so Whop's processing fees apply, and Shopify may add a third-party transaction fee (see Whop's and Shopify's fees).
- Shop Pay is gone while LatchPay is on.
- One-click needs a Whop permission. Without it, buyers pay the offer in the payment box.
How to choose
- You are happy with Shopify's checkout and Shopify Payments: use an app. Pick by billing model: order-based if your volume is steady, revenue-based if you want to pay only for results.
- You are on Plus: the apps can also place offers inside the checkout.
- You are replacing the checkout for other reasons: use the offers built into the new checkout, and remove the app so it is not billing you for a page buyers never see.
Try a few offers for a month, then compare the extra revenue with what the app, or the checkout, costs you. You can see LatchPay's checkout in the demo or sign up to try it on a store.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best post-purchase upsell app for Shopify?
It depends on your plan, order volume and how you want to be billed. Upsell.com (formerly ReConvert), Zipify OCU and Aftersell all offer one-click post-purchase offers; they differ mainly in pricing model and in extra placements.
Do post-purchase upsells work with Apple Pay and Shop Pay?
On Shopify's own post-purchase page, Shopify's documentation says the page is not shown when the buyer pays with a wallet such as Apple Pay or Google Pay or with an installment service. Apps that use that page share the limit.
How are Shopify upsell apps priced?
As of September 2026, Aftersell bills its post-purchase plan on your store's total orders, Zipify OCU on the upsell revenue it generates, and Upsell.com on whichever is higher of your orders or the revenue it generates.
Can I use a post-purchase upsell app together with LatchPay?
Not on LatchPay's checkout. Apps that plug into Shopify's own checkout do not run there; LatchPay has its own order bump and post-purchase offer instead.
